I don’t normally post this early after a round or so late in the day, but with the short turnaround between rounds I need to get a move on.
My tips also need to get a move on, with another unsuccessful round this week. However, I am happy that the underdog Fremantle tip worked out so well.
In the ratings, there wasn’t a lot of movement in rankings but the ratings did move quite a bit for the teams that played. GWS are back above 0 and their rating will be adjusted this week. Collingwood and Sydney were other teams with a handy increase, while Richmond, St Kilda and Gold Coast all went backwards.
With their loss to Port, Richmond also gave up their first placings in attack and defence ratings. Despite losing, Melbourne still scored well above the competition average and gain 1st place in attack ratings. Up the other end of the ground, Geelong’s defence has been formidable this season and they rightfully rise to 1st place.
Also, thank you to all who donated for the Big Freeze. My late uncle was diagnosed with MND around the same time as Neale Daniher, and very fiercely fought it for years until the end. It’s an absolute bitch of an illness and it’s great to see FreezeMND get an overwhelming amount of support.
